OAK HILL CEMETERY ASSOCIATION ORDINANCES & REGULATIONS: (webpage under construction)
CEMETERY GROUNDS: • No dogs are allowed on cemetery grounds. • With exception for funerals, the cemetery gate will be locked on January 1 or before if roads are snow covered. It will reopened as conditions allow in the spring, usually March 1. • No snowmobiles are allowed on cemetery grounds.
GRAVE DECORATIONS: • Grave decorations are allowed 5 days prior and must be removed 10 days after Memorial Day. • Seasonal memorials must be placed in permanent urns or pots placed on the cement footing only. • Trees, shrubs or perennials are NOT to be planted on cemetery grounds. • All flag holders, metal markers, plant holders, etc, must be placed within the cement footings.
BURIALS: • Only human remains are allowed to be buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. • The Cemetery Sexton is to oversee all cremation burials or scattering of cremains. • No cremains will be buried between November 1 and April 15. • All caskets must be buried in industry approved burial vaults. • For cremations NOT in Row 23 (cremation section), Only TWO cremains per single burial space. If the lot contains a full burial vault, cremains must be buried on another full space. • The funeral home will pay the cemetery, who will then pay for the digging of all graves.
STONE FOOTINGS: • All permanent grave markers/monuments and granite caps must be placed on a concrete foundation slab that meets the requirements of the Cemetery Board of Directors. REQUIREMENTS: 1 - A 12 inch deep pour of concrete for the foundation slab. 2 - A 4 foot post-hole (2) poured below the foundation slab. 3 - A 6 inch exposure (wash) on the front & back dimension of the monument (mowing safety strip.) 4 - A 12 inch exposure on the ends of stones for the placement of plants/flowers, metal markers, etc.
